I recently realized that I had somehow completely missed posting this session. It is from last September! So sorry, M!
I did this family session in north Houston. It was a typically humid Houston morning just like I remember from growing up there. Even so, we had good light and I had a beautiful family to photograph!
I had a busy weekend in Houston! The morning after the Bridges wedding I met this family of five at the entrance to the Houston Zoo. I was thrilled to be asked to take photos of this family because I have known Lori since we were teenagers! Lori was another of my sister's close friends in middle school and high school so I have fond memories of her from way back when!
She asked me to photograph her family and although it was literally like a sauna that morning it was not difficult to take pictures of her absolutely gorgeous children. I mean seriously, look at their amazing sparkly blue eyes!
I had a hard time picking out pictures from this session because there were just so many I loved.

I can't begin to say how special it was to be asked to photograph this wedding. Kelli is my sister's closest friend and I've known her since we were in middle school, so when Kelli asked me to be the photographer I was thrilled, but a little nervous. I think it's always harder doing work for people that you know really well than for people you've only just met. I know it shouldn't make a difference, but I'm always more anxious!
Kelli and Mike got married in Houston at The Manor House at The Houstonian Hotel. The grounds there are amazing and the hotel and Manor House were just gorgeous. I took Kelli's portraits in the hotel room. Loved the red & cream striped chair!
They had a very small and intimate ceremony with just their family and then a wonderful reception with all of their family and friends. It was a wonderful event and I was just honored to have been a part of it.
