This is my oh-so-amazing friend Julie. You can find her at Julie Wolk Creative. If you need a writer or graphic designer, she is the person for you. She is also a mom and a sister and the kind of person that you want to sit around with for hours on end talking and laughing with endlessly. She is seriously one of the smartest and most creative people that I know. I am so lucky to have this woman in my life. We have spent hours discussing creativity and it's importance in our lives and how we want everyone to know that they are also creative beings.
Julie knew she wanted and needed to do this session, but like most women, was really wary of what she was going to see when it was all said and done. She told me to do what I do best and that she trusted me. I can't tell you how important those statements were to me. So I was nervous when I handed her the disk full of photos. I was proud of what we did that morning and more than anything, I wanted Julie to look at these photos and see the gorgeous woman that she is. So when she emailed me these words, I smiled with big happy tears in my eyes -- Thank you for giving me an experience that was positive. Thank you for bearing with my reticence. Thank you for giving me a gentle mirror to see myself in a new light. Thank you for this....[W]ith your patience and your careful eye, you were able to capture a part of me that is just me.... I've never done anything like this before. Perhaps every woman really should. Maybe we all need to embrace more of this, you know?
